Description

Following on from the results of a DBA, a program of test trenching was carried out ahead of redevelopment of the site. Evidence of pinewood rafts beneath stone wall foundations, suggested reuse of building foot prints, probably relating to the 19th century. A series of pits were also identified; and it is suggested these were the earliest features on the site. No finds or dating evidence were identified from the evaluation works. Note - the DBA contains borehole data.
