Full Description
Site of Louise Carnegie Hostel, school hostel for the Nicholson Institute. Presently car park.
Possible (but not probable) location for Cromwellian Fort. Dennison & Coleman (1998, 49) list this as one of the two possible locations for the Cromwellian Fort. However, the fort is more likely to lie to the west of Cromwell Street.
A building is shown on the southern end of the site on the Wood's map of 1821, & on the 1849 1st ed OS map.
