The 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Island of Lewis, Ross-shire 1853, sheet 3) depicts, to the S of the head-dyke, on what may have been common land of the township, five or six unroofed buildings, six enclosures and two small field-systems. These may represent an earlier township or expansion into the commonland which was unsuccessful.
The current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1992) show the area developed with modern housing and small enclosures.
Information from RCAHMS (AKK) 20 June 1997.
